I read somewhere the first player you were inspired by was Kataro Oshio? Do you recall how you felt at the specific moment when you first you heard him? Was it on YouTube? My father used to play that one a lot home. Of course I watched Kotaro Oshio playing it on the Internet later when I grabbed the guitar to learn the song myself.
When you were younger, how did you feel about that? A: I seriously had no idea my 'Pirates of the Caribbean' cover would be so big a hit.
It still seems like a miracle when you think about it. Well, all I can say is that I am really really grateful for the attention and support in general, not to mention that one particular video.
Click here for tickets. Stephen Lavoie. A: Acoustic, fingerstyle, Sungha Jung. A little later everybody was thrilled! Homepage: www. Sungha Jung is a real phenomenon! Who would have thought that a finger style guitarist, a string plucker, would one day need security guards to prevent him being mobbed by screaming teenage girls? Sungha Jung has a cool, youthful appeal with which he has repositioned the acoustic guitar to a new status. His example has made the guitar suddenly really cool!
He has developed serious credibility and now finds himself on the radar of many international heavyweights. But what is his secret recipe? As a result he popped up ever more frequently during searches not necessarily aimed at him. Of course when encountering a 9 year-old playing incredible guitar, one will tend to keep watching. This got around slowly at first but then more and more quickly.
Obviously this was not just another case of smoke and mirrors — the guy was a really superb player!
