Family Guy , and the extended MacFarlane universe, contains a vast collection of characters that could fill any role in any parody. An entire season dedicated to parodying different movies would be incredible and exactly what the show needs to return to its former glory. However, the footage used to represent the characters playing Double Dribble was lifted off of YouTube without the person who recorded and uploaded the video being compensated. The styles and sensibilities of Family Guy are pretty well known at this point.
American Dad is a fantastic examination and satire of American institutions and social issues. Likewise, The Orville is a wonderful Star Trek parody that recognizes that the original was advocating for a more progressive society since its inception.
This discrepancy is so noticeable that it has even become a running meta-joke in the show. Actor James Woods appears frequently in Family Guy. This makes Family Guy the only franchise that gives Woods steady work in a significant role, as his promotion of conservative political views and advocation of conspiracy theories have made most production studios hesitant to work with him.
The progression of time is weird in Family Guy. Furthermore, Peter holds different jobs for numerous episodes and Brian dates other characters for numerous episodes at a time. However, these cutaways stopped being surprising after a while, and instead became more formulaic.
As Family Guy continued to rely on this style of humor, and as the novelty of cutaways wore off, the overall quality of Family Guy decreased. There are plenty of ways to innovate this style of humor, but Family Guy has yet to try to do that.
Family Guy is written almost entirely by men. While the contributions of women to the show are notable and substantial, especially that of writer and co-producer Cherry Chevapravatdumrong, a show as established as Family Guy can now easily have a more diverse pool of writers behind it. However, it seems like the show is more than likely going to keep telling the same kinds of jokes with similar people driving it forward. But the difference is they do so with more intelligent writing and in a truly uncensored environment.
Family Guy has always been a show populated by an expansive supporting cast. Yet, while many of them exist essentially for one type of joke each, the Griffin family started out much more well-rounded than that. As the years have gone by, everyone has devolved into their most basic selves.
Peter and Lois, for instance, were always on the stupid and wild side, respectively. But they were also concerned parents and well-intentioned spouses.
Likewise, Stewie was devious and had an ambiguous sexual orientation. Your shamed faces illuminated by LED screens, too tired to leave your seat, not sleepy enough to close your eyes. Brian and Stewie are doing a song, look!
I can't go to bed yet. When we were young, we'd run in from the yard, gobble down fish sticks, and sit wide-eyed and cross-legged in front of The Simpsons.
Now we drag our dreary limbs off a train, are lucky to have microwaved some leftovers by 9 PM, briefly consider opening the scary-looking envelope from the IRS that arrived that morning, phone our moms, reply to some more emails, switch the heating on, and fall lovelessly into the arms of Peter Griffin.
Giggidy, giggidy, goo. Only, there's hope. A break in the chain. It will return to UK television on February 29 on ITV2, but in its brief absence, let's take a moment to reflect on exactly why we keep going back. Why is Family Guy popular? I have watched a lot of episodes by now and I'm pretty sure the reason isn't "because it's funny. If I do make a noise, it's this sort of disappointed pity-groan. As if my laugh is questioning its own existence as it is leaving my mouth.
I imagine it's the noise I will make if I ever change a diaper: "There's loads of shit and piss, which is sort of funny in that it's eventful, but more than anything it smells terrible and I don't want to look at it any more. Definitely not for all tastes, but a program that is unique, innovative and completely misunderstood by many in the viewing public.
Family guy is a very good show with a lot of random stuff and its very funny, the show takes place around Quahog road island,it revolds around a family called the Griffins, there's a special dad called Peter, there's a mom called Lois,an evil and posh baby called Stewie,an alcoholic girl called Brian who acts a lot like a human, there's a fat and stupid boy called Chris and a teenage girl called Meg who known of the family like in the first few seasons they didn't seem to mind her but nowadays they hate her Peter also has three friends that he always meets up with at a bar called the Drunken Clam, there's a Lady's man called Quagmire,a dis-cabled cop called Joe and a black guy called Clevaland now has his own show ,also in every episode there are clips when they mention something that happened in the past-Family Guy is a funny and random show.
Irishchatter 21 November I had loved Family Guy since my younger cousins introduced me to this back in but now, I just lost interest in it because it really looks the same. I had stopped watching it early this year and I mean, I wont miss it since it is still on our screens. My favorite characters were Stewie and Brian because they were such characters to laugh at and I really enjoyed their bonding in some episodes together, they were such a team. The jokes are definitely rough but some jokes were hilarious you have to admit!
I don't know why most kids watch this because it is definitely a rough adult show but thats like asking yourself why are they even watch 'The Simpsons'? They pretty much are both the same really so I can't complain as its up to the kids themselves or the parents.
For those who haven't watched the series, I think you should watch it if you wanted to get a taste of the show! It's funny how my brother only ever wants to see. Are the stupid cartoons that come on TV. This proves that comedy is easy. When people are watching comedy movies or a comedy TV series they are not thinking I better have some judgment about what I laugh at. No there are not. They are just thinking I want to laugh. Laughter feels good.
Laughter is the very best medicine. And that is why comedy is so easy. IF comedy was hard this pieces of garbage would have been one of shortest running TV shows of all time.
This show is not funny at all. It is just stupid and sick. Sick is not funny sick it just sick. This is a sick mean n. The people who you made it out be ashamed of them salves. John6Daniels 2 October Family Guy is a good show when you are bored out of your mind.
It has some funny moments like when they pick on Megs. Although, they use a lot of humour that is equivalent to a toilet. Family Guy is very random. It's a silly old gag show about past events that never even happened on the shows timeline. Just random hash. Peter is so stupid so how does he remember so many past irrelevant events?
Peter G is the immature childish father who is really dumb. He has nothing positive about him. He tends to learn a lesson at the end of episodes. By the next he is still behaves like an American. Lois is the wife who is just a female. In cartoon she's attractive yet settled for someone like Peter.
Chris is the fat r-tard of the family. He has more sense than his own father. Meg is the black sheep who gets abused by everyone from family to classmates to guest characters. Stewie is the intelligent, fruit and sadistic baby son of the family. How did dumb Peter create something like Stewie? Sometimes they can hear him talk other times they can't. Then there is a talking mutt named Brian a talking mutt who is the most decent of the whole household. This dirty mutt has the best common sense, etiquette and personality.
These Dog lovers Despite his drug use brain still shows he isn't as bad as Peter, Chris, meg and Stewie. Lois is just there as a prop for Peter. Then they have main side characters and background characters. They whatever. The animation is fine. Voice work is fine. Stories are like a rushed "excourt session".
The theme song is alright. It's not iconic like Simpsons BY any means. It's still good tho. Verdict: family guy reminds me of the time when I had a date with a pineapple that was a pr1ck for the whole date. Pineapple, If you pr1ck me one more time I'll eat you out". The humour of this cartoon is outrageous in its own unique way. Compared to The Simpsons it is less coherent and compared to South Park it is more juvenile. Family Guy has a very distinct and memorable style that relies on constant cutaways to keep things fresh.
Floated2 15 November I really enjoy watching family guy. Its very original and very entertaining. Is definitely one of funniest animated shows of all time. Family guy is so much better than Simpson's. Simpson's is well passed its prime and family guy is still rolling. The newest seasons are very funny and great to watch. The first couple of season's was good but not that great. The animation was weak and is much worse than the newest season. I love all the jokes in this show, so many of them are funny and hilarious.
There are always laughs when i watch this show unless I've seen the same episode many times. All the characters are very unique and original. Stewie is my favorite character, he's hella funny. There nothing like the Simpson's
